Sister Angelica (Suor Angelica) has been exiled to a convent for disgracing her wealthy family after bearing a child out of wedlock. She has waited seven long years for news about her son, and finally one day her Aunt arrives requesting her to sign over her inheritance. At this point Angelica learns that her son died two years ago from an illness. Devastated, Angelica concocts and drinks poison in an effort to join her son in Heaven. However, after realizing she has committed a mortal sin, she pleads to the Virgin Mary for mercy.

This all-female cast features Carey Dance Company, Carey Orchestra, and voice faculty: Jessica Bryan as Sister Angelica and Katrina Cox as the Princess (Sister Angelica’s Aunt).
